In short
- Swiss passport (and most EU passports, for example): no visa, but an ETA. With eVisas.ch from CHF 30.
- Passport from a visa-required country, for example India, Sri Lanka, Türkiye, Pakistan or Nigeria: you need a visitor visa. With eVisas.ch from CHF 340, all included.
- You can stay up to 6 months per visit. If you travel often, take the visa for 2, 5 or 10 years.

Appointment in Switzerland
After you apply, you show your passport at the visa application centre, where your fingerprints and a photo are taken. The UK visa application centres in Switzerland are in Geneva and Zurich, and there is a premium centre in Bern.
The UK usually decides within 3 weeks. Our express service is faster, see the prices above. The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel.
Who only needs an ETA
With a passport from Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and some other countries you usually need no visa but an ETA (electronic travel authorisation). It lets you stay up to 6 months. Whether you need an ETA or a visa depends on your nationality, not where you live. We're happy to check for you.
Tips
- Don't book flights and hotels for good before you have the visa. The UK itself says bookings don't help much with the application.
- Send photos of the originals, not copies of copies.
