How long does it take?
Australia publishes current processing times online. For the visitor visa it can be several weeks. The embassy advises: don't book non-refundable flights or hotels before you have the visa.
Depending on the visa you may stay up to 3, 6 or 12 months.
ETA for Swiss passports
With a Swiss passport you apply for the ETA through Australia's app. It is valid for 12 months, and you may stay up to 3 months on each visit. Work is not allowed with it. We handle the application for you.
