When to apply

  • At least 30 days before departure, the embassy advises.
  • Not more than 90 days before: most visas are valid for 90 days from issue and could otherwise expire before your trip.
  • The embassy in Bern says it needs about 10 working days, currently often 15–20 working days because of high demand. For some nationalities it can take 8–12 weeks.
  • A submitted application cannot be changed. That's why we check everything before submitting.

The TDAC digital arrival card

Since 1 May 2025, every non-Thai traveller must fill in the TDAC online within 3 days before arrival. That includes Swiss citizens travelling without a visa, and it's needed again for every entry. With eVisas.ch the TDAC costs CHF 20, express CHF 40: we fill it in for you.

Tips

  1. A visa is not the length of stay: the visa shows until when you may enter. How long you may stay is decided by the border officer on arrival.
  2. Carry your documents: even with a visa, Thai border control may ask to see them, for example your return flight and hotel.
  3. For retirees: if you want to live in Thailand longer, you can apply for the O-A or O-X long-stay visa, see prices above.
